(English
Version) June 10th: Reafirmation of Argentine Rights over the Malvinas Islands, South Atlantic Islands and Antartic area. On June 10 th each year, the Argentina Nation remembers the creation date of the "Militar and Political command of the Malvinas Islands and the adjacent islands to the Cabo de Hornos in the Atlantic ocean" That same day in 1829, by a decree signed by the acting governor Brigadier General Martin Rodriguez, the first Argentine governor of the Islands was designated. The designated person was Luis Vernet, who at the time was working in the colonization of the Puerto Soledad. From its beginning as a free and independent nation, our country exteriorized through different acts of the government, the political will to practise efective sovereignty over the southern territories and maritime spaces inherited from Spain. This practice was interrupted in 1833, when british forces occupied the island, and expelled its population and established argentina authorities. The argentina nation nor its population have agreed with this acts of force and occupation, and to this day they ratify its inalienable determination of getting back the sovereignty over the Islas Malvinas, Georgias del Sur and Sandwich del Sur, through the peaceful way of dialogue and diplomatic negotiation. The claim of the Republica Argentina has been supported by several countries of our region as well as important organisms, inlcuding the General Meeting of the United Nations and the General Meeting of the Organization of American States. |

(English

It has become a must see area during the weekends, for the visitors of our city. The city owes its name to the feline "yaguarete", american tiger, currently extinct. Its main attraction is the "Puerto de Frutos" and the commercial center in the open air, full of crafts, regional products (furniture, wicker accesories, home made honey and jellys, fruits) The Port has three docks. From the first one, excursions around the Delta and all its rivers on catamarans and/or modern boats, leave every day. In the main dock, you will find the grocery-boats, which brings supplies to the people living in the islands. In the last dock, the timber boats arrive filled with willow and alamo trunks which come from the islands of the Delta. Aside from the Port, the city offers two other circuits: the Lavalle-Victorica tour, which borders the Tigre river and allows one to observe the paddle practice and other acuatic sports; and the Camino Real, population nucleous of the city, where you can visit places with historic relevance, such as de "Sarmiento" museum, or de "Naval de la Nacion" museum. The Martin Garcia Island is also a place to see in Tigre. It captivates the attention of a great amount of tourists for its historic meaning. Fun and chance find their place in a great amusement park in the coast of the city, and an excellent casino with spaces dedicated to gambling, shows and restaurants.
